Clemson’s Quarterback battle seems to be down to two guys after the Spring Game. Clemson has five Quarterbacks, Christopher Vizzina, Trent Pearman, Brock Bradley, Tait Reynolds, and Chris Densen. Many fans are excited about Chris Densen but being only a Freshman, he does not quite have the arm talent to be the starting Quarterback. He is a great athlete but we need to see improvement there which I believe we will see. Now whether it is improvement to become a star or just a good backup we will see. Brock Bradley is a incoming three star and someone we expect to compete but not this year. Trent Pearman is an experienced veteran but is not starting Quarterback material. Christopher Vizzina is the one most expect to start, and for good reason, has been with the Clemson program for years, played very good against SMU in 2025 but we do hope for much improvement and expect much improvement. The one guy who has emerged as a potential threat to Vizzina’s starting job is Tait Reynolds. The three star Quarterback from Arizona played very good in the Spring game and impressed with his throws and athletic ability. This is my expected depth chart going into 2026:
- Christopher Vizzina
- Tait Reynolds
- Chris Densen
- Trent Pearman
- Brock Bradley
I believe that this is Christopher Vizzina’s job to lose however I do think that even if he continues to do well, Tait Reynolds could become the starter if he keeps progressing at the pace he currently is. Reynolds seems to have the most upside of all Clemson Quarterbacks. My expectation is that Vizzina will be the starter heading into the LSU game in week one. Now I do not see Clemson winning that game as LSU should be very good and even if Vizzina does not light up the field, I do not see a reason to bench him after that game unless he plays terribly. For example, multiple interceptions, looks lost on the field, and can not command the offense. If he comes out and looks even half decent he should stay as starter, despite the impending cries of Clemson fans that he should be benched. Just because Reynolds does not start this season does not mean that he will never as he is a Freshman. With all that being said, we hope that Dabo makes the right decision and Clemson finds their starting Quarterback.
